What Is VNG Testing?

Videonystagmography (VNG) is a series of tests used to assess how well your inner ear (vestibular system) and brain are working together to keep you balanced. It measures involuntary eye movements (nystagmus) to determine whether a balance disorder is caused by inner ear dysfunction or neurological conditions. Using infrared video goggles, VNG tracks your eye movements while you perform simple head and body motions, helping to diagnose: Vertigo Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) Labyrinthitis or Vestibular Neuritis Meniere’s Disease Central nervous system disorders affecting balance
